Community minded volunteers are needed to staff an ongoing Saturday evening "community meal" held at the Gardenia Center in Sandpoint. Volunteers needed for cooking prep, serving meals, cleaning, set up and take down. Contact number 208 264 0202.
Crosswalk North Idaho
Crosswalk provides a place that youth can go for help. They need volunteers to help keep their drop in center vibrant, their helpline prepared and the kids warm, nourished, learning and growing. You can help by dropping off school supplies, bringing a hot meal for 12-15 kids, installing or repairing equipment, providing after school activities, sharing skills with youth, tutoring youth at the drop in center or maybe you have an idea that they haven't though of yet. Meals on Wheels
Homebound seniors in CDA, Dalton Gardens and Hayden need meals delivered. Delivery days are Monday, Wed. and Friday. This is about a two hour commitment from 10:30am to12:30pm. You must have a vehicle that can get around in winter weather, be insured and be capable of lifting coolers and containers of food. Call Kris at 208-667-4628
Auburn Crest Hospice
Volunteer opportunities are available in the following areas: Companionship, meal preparation, caring touch, caregiver respite, letter writing/reading, life review, community relations, staff support, office tasks, event organizing, scrapbooking, memorial service planning, bereavement calling, sewing/quilting and much more.....Auburn Crest Hospice is located at 1596 E. Community Closet Open Wednesdays 10:00am-1:00pm Location: 2201 Ironwood Place, CDA 208-769-4222 Who its for: Anyone in need of some clothing and/or household supplies Make it a Give & Get closet by exchanging some of your "old" stuff for some "new" stuff. Limit: 3 clothing items & 3 non-clothing items per person, per visit Feel free to make a donation to the Community Closet by dropping items off anytime between 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday thur Friday. We will take pretty much anything except for large items/furniture, and ask that clothing be laundered. |
WE'VE GOT STUFF
We've Got Stuff is a ministry in CDA that helps families coming out of homelessness with basic needs like furniture, dishes and other basic furnishings to help them get started. Right now they especially need beds and dressers. These are their top two requests.
They also have carpenters serving with them that can repair items that are in less than perfect condition. They can pick up your donation or you can drop it off. If you have items to donate, please call them at 208 446 4382. |
